The Smile release their debut album, A Light for Attracting Attention, on May 13, 2022, via XL Recordings. The trio features Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood and Sons of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner.

The album has 13 tracks and was produced by Nigel Godrich, Radiohead's longtime collaborator. Its sound blends angular guitars, synthesizers, jazz and post-punk, with Yorke's voice at the center.

You Will Never Work in Television Again, The Smoke and Skrting on the Surface preceded the release. The album was received as the side project closest to a Radiohead record since A Moon Shaped Pool.
