Squid release their debut album, Bright Green Field, on May 7, 2021, via Warp. The Brighton band was already known for the singles Houseplants and Narrator.

The record combines post-punk, jazz, krautrock and dub, with sharp guitars, brass and constantly shifting beats. It was produced by Dan Carey, who has also worked with acts such as Fontaines D.C. and Black Midi.

Bright Green Field was received as one of the most ambitious British rock debuts of the year, with long tracks and an energy that holds through the most experimental passages.
