SOPHIE's self-titled posthumous album was released on September 27, 2024, via Transgressive and Future Classic. The British producer died in 2021 at 34, leaving the project nearly finished.
The album was completed by her brother and former studio manager Benny Long, with family and collaborators. Its structure was described as an opera in four acts, with tracks blending experimental pop, industrial noise and distorted vocals.
The single Reason Why, featuring BC Kingdom and Kim Petras, opened the rollout. SOPHIE is the artist's first and final official posthumous album, according to her family, and was received as a farewell to one of the most influential figures in pop and electronic music of recent decades.
