My Chemical Romance have released the animated short film Prelude to The End, made with visual artist Lauren Tsai. Phoebe Bridgers and Billie Eilish lend their voices to two characters in the story.
The film follows Astrid, a girl studying at a New England boarding school overrun with trash. After falling down the school's garbage chute in search of a beloved sketchbook, she enters an uncanny realm where old ideas come to life. Bridgers voices Astrid's sister, while Eilish voices a close friend of the protagonist.
The cast also includes Kojima as the Teacher and McGinley as an even more imposing administrative figure, the Dean. The film features a live recording of Pascal Dusapin's Flying River Violin Concerto, performed by Utopia Orchestra and conducted by Giuseppe Mengoli.
The band will screen the film across the final two nights of its five-night residency at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, on October 30 and 31. The run is part of the tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Black Parade.
