The Novas Frequências festival announced the program for its 13th edition on November 28, 2023. The event takes over different areas of Rio de Janeiro between December 2 and 22, under the theme Riso Ritual, curated by KENYA20HZ, Nathalia Grilo and Chico Dub.

The program features 45 artists and passes through Realengo, Maré, Tijuca, Gamboa, Flamengo, Centro and Cosme Velho. The idea is to bring experimental music and expanded sound practices beyond the city's traditional circuits.

In addition to concerts, the festival hosts a seminar, an immersive lab for emerging artists and an art exhibition at the Futuros cultural center from December 6 to 22.

Founded in 2011, Novas Frequências has established itself as one of South America's leading experimental music festivals, focused on noise, ambient, improvisation and sound art.
