Los Angeles duo Magdalena Bay release their debut album, Mercurial World, on October 8, 2021, via Luminelle. Formed by Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin, the project was already known for the singles Chaeri and You Lose!.

Mercurial World blends synth-pop, dance music, progressive rock and science fiction references, with detailed production and catchy choruses. The album has a conceptual structure about fame, technology and identity.

The record was received as one of the year's most inventive pop debuts, with the duo building their own visual and sonic universe.
