Los Angeles duo Magdalena Bay released their second album, Imaginal Disk, on August 23, 2024, via Mom+Pop. The record follows 2021's Mercurial World and pushes the group's synth-pop toward progressive rock, shoegaze and dance music.

The album has 15 tracks and a science-fiction narrative about a disk implanted in a character's forehead. Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin produced the record and built their own visual universe, including an interactive website that accompanied the release.

Death & Romance was the first single, followed by Image and Tunnel Vision. Imaginal Disk drew positive reviews and landed on year-end album lists.
