Low release their 13th album, Hey What, on September 10, 2021, via Sub Pop. The record follows 2018's Double Negative and was produced by BJ Burton.
Hey What keeps the foundation of Mimi Parker and Alan Sparhawk but takes distortion and noise to a more extreme level, with vocals often buried under layers of guitar and synthesizers. Days Like These and Disappearing opened the rollout.
The album was received as one of Low's most radical works, joining simply structured songs to production that turns beauty into tension.
