Fever Ray, the project of Karin Dreijer, released their third studio album, Radical Romantics, on March 10, 2023, via Mute. The record follows 2017's Plunge.

The album explores love in its less conventional forms, with watery synthesizers, processed vocals and industrial beats. Dreijer sings about desire, gender and intimacy without fixing on a single identity.

What They Call Us was the first taste, released in October 2022, followed by Shiver. The production features contributions from Olof Dreijer, Karin's brother and The Knife partner, as well as Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross on one track.

Critics received the album as one of Fever Ray's most personal and sensual works, retaining the experimentalism that has defined Dreijer's career since the 2000s.
