Depeche Mode released their 15th studio album, Memento Mori, on March 24, 2023, via Columbia. It is the band's first record since the death of keyboardist Andy Fletcher in May 2022.

Dave Gahan and Martin Gore recorded the album as a duo, with production from James Ford. Its 12 tracks deal with mortality, loss and endurance, with dense synthesizers and slow beats recalling the group's darkest records.

Ghosts Again was the first single, with a video directed by Anton Corbijn. The album was presented on a world tour that played stadiums and arenas across Europe and the United States.

Critics received Memento Mori as one of Depeche Mode's most consistent records of the 21st century, with Gahan and Gore turning grief into arena pop songs.
