Deftones announced their 10th studio album, Private Music, on July 10, 2025, with a release date of August 22 via Reprise. It is the band's first album in nearly five years, following 2020's Ohms.

The first taste is My Mind Is a Mountain, which opens the 11-song record. The group recorded and co-produced the album in California and Nashville with Nick Raskulinecz, who previously worked on Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokan.

Private Music also brings Deftones back to North American touring, with a leg beginning August 22 in Vancouver and support from Phantogram, Idles and The Barbarians of California.

The band also confirmed two shows with System of a Down in Toronto in September, plus a European tour for early 2026.
