Burial releases the EP Antidawn on January 6, 2022, via Hyperdub. Its five tracks run about 43 minutes, making it one of William Bevan's longest and least rhythmic productions.
The record steps away from the garage and dubstep beats of his early work and dives into ambient, vocal collages and city noise. The aim is to create a kind of nocturnal interzone, with samples appearing and disappearing like radio signals.
The digital edition arrived first, with CD and vinyl planned for later in January. The EP was received as a sideways step in the producer's catalog, closer to a soundtrack than a dancefloor record.
