Black Country, New Road release their debut album, For the First Time, on February 5, 2021, via Ninja Tune. The seven-piece London group was already known for the singles Science Fair and Sunglasses.

The record combines angular guitars, saxophone, violin and Isaac Wood's voice, with long narrative lyrics moving through anxiety, faith and pop culture. It was produced by Andy Savours.

For the First Time was received as one of the most ambitious recent British rock debuts, with tracks stretching over several minutes and instrumentation that moves away from straightforward post-punk.
