Black Country, New Road release their second album, Ants From Up There, on February 4, 2022, via Ninja Tune. The record follows 2021's For the First Time and was recorded on the Isle of Wight.

The London group keeps its saxophone, violin and guitar setup but makes room for more direct melodies and confessional lyrics. Its ten tracks include Concorde, Bread Song and the long closing track Basketball Shoes.

The album arrived days after the announcement that vocalist Isaac Wood was leaving the band before the tour. Even so, Ants From Up There was received as one of the most ambitious British rock records of the year.
