Arctic Monkeys release their seventh album, The Car, on October 21, 2022, via Domino. The record follows 2018's Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino and deepens the band's turn toward a slower, orchestrated sound.

The Car has 10 tracks and was produced by the band with James Ford. The songs trade guitar rock for strings, brass, piano and a cabaret atmosphere, with Alex Turner singing in a lower register.

There'd Better Be a Mirrorball opened the rollout, followed by Body Paint. The album was received as one of the most cohesive works of the band's recent phase, with lyrics about fame, desire and decay.
