Russ Ballard was born on 31 October 1945 in England. A singer, songwriter and guitarist, he built a career between bands and solo work.

Beyond his own records, he wrote songs that other artists recorded, which extended his name beyond the rock circuit.

The date marks the birthday of a musician who worked on both sides of the industry: on stage and writing for others.
