Kamaitachi built a career on one simple rule: every song is a short story. Acústico Kamaitachi, released by ONErpm in three parts through September 2025 and collected as a 14-track, 45-minute album on September 26, is the first project to question that rule. The idea is not just to re-record hits with acoustic guitar. It is to reposition the voice that sings them.
The structure makes the move clear. The first two parts, out on August 29 and September 12, bring five tracks each, mixing songs from Homem Torto and Festa. The full version, on September 26, adds four tracks and reshuffles the running order. The stated influence is 1990s and 2000s rock, which pulls the project away from fantasy and toward a terrain of musical memory and formation.
The most interesting moment is in the new songs. On Colorindo (Com o Seu Sorriso), the artist name-checks Black Sabbath and stitches in references to Lana, Morgana, Julieta and Cabelos Arco-Íris. It is the first time the catalogue points inward as autobiography rather than mythology. In the Mídia NINJA interview, Kamaitachi admits the discomfort: he spent years building characters and stopped talking about himself. The acoustic project exists to correct that imbalance.
The risk of the format is familiar. Across 14 tracks, the record can feel like a greatest-hits set in new clothes when the arrangement does not offer a different reading of the original. The sequence jumps between eras without building its own dramaturgy, and some songs seem to serve a setlist rather than a concept album. That is where the project loses part of the tension that made Kamaitachi's universe work.
Even so, the balance is positive. Acústico works as a document of transition, not a closed retrospective. The following single, Fantasia Sombria, from 2026, runs 8 minutes and 42 seconds, well above the catalogue average, and signals that the mature phase is not necessarily a quiet one. For listeners who have followed him since 2017, the record explains where he came from. For newcomers, it is a more human doorway than the character allowed.
